New grant on ethograms
EvoS faculty participant Anne B. Clark has received a National Leadership Grant from the Institute for Museum and Library Science (IMLS) to fund the Ethogram Archive Project (EAP) in collaboration with Dr. Susan Margulis, Curator of Primates at the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago. An ethogram is a systematic way of describing the behavioral repertoire of a species and is the fundamental basis of animal behavior research. The EAP will create an archive of ethograms in a searchable web-based format. It will be of critical importance for animal behavior researchers, conservation biologists, and zoo managers.
