“Brain wellsprings of delight, desire and dread”
Abstract: Wanting a reward is generated by a different brain mechanism from liking the same reward. That wanting-liking difference has implications for addiction and related disorders. Yet surprisingly, desire and offear can both can both be generated by the same brain mechanism. This talk will address such dissociations andconvergence in affective brain mechanisms.
Refreshments will be available immediately before the colloquium as well as during a brief reception immediatelyafter the colloquium, compliments of the PGSO
