Center for Applied Community Research and Development “Brown Bag” seminar next week

As we mentioned last week, the Center for Applied Community Research and Development at Binghamton University has initiated a new “Brown Bag” lunch seminar series. This series and the CACRD’s work both overlap with topics of interest to the EvoS community – especially for those involved with the Binghamton Neighborhood Project. Here are some details on the next event:

All BU faculty are invited to attend the second talk in the Center for Applied Community Research & Development’s (CACRD) Brown Bag Series on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 from 11:30 to 1:00 in the CCPA Dean’s Conference Room (EB-R3).

Dr. Brandon Gibb will be discussing “Integrating Cognitive and Genetic Models of Risk for Depression in Children.” The goal of his talk will be to describe two potential ways of integrating cognitive and genetic models of depression risk: (i) information-processing biases as an intermediate phenotype for specific genetic influences, and (ii) gene x cognition x environment models of depression risk.

The talks are free but a reservation is appreciated. Please contact JoAnn Lindstrom at the CACRD to reserve your seat at 777-9178 or jlindstr@binghamton.edu.
