Non-Matriculated Students
The Evolutionary Studies Program welcomes people of all ages who are not enrolled in a degree program at Binghamton University but who want to learn more about evolution and its wide-ranging implications. A sophisticated knowledge of evolution can be as important to the professional and personal development of so-called non-traditional students as undergraduate and graduate students earning their degrees at BU. Completing the program will result in the same certificate that is issued to degree-earning students.
The introductory undergraduate course Evolution for Everyone (BIOL 105) can be taken by non-matriculated students without special permission. Those who wish to enter the program after taking this course should contact the program director and consult the information for undergraduates on this website.
The introductory graduate course Evolution and Human Affairs (BIOL 570) can be taken by non-matriculated students with the approval of the executive committee. Consult the information for graduate students on this website and contact the program director to discuss whether the graduate or undergraduate component of the program is most appropriate for you.
